Reception and Key Stage One had a truly special afternoon this week when they were visited by local author Danielle Lovatt. Danielle shared her delightful rhyming story, Simon’s Breakfast Adventure, with the children, who were captivated by the tale and eagerly joined in with the rhymes and actions.

As part of the session, Danielle asked the children questions about the story, encouraging them to think about the characters and events. The pupils also had the exciting opportunity to ask Danielle their own questions about writing and publishing a book. It was a wonderful chance for them to learn more about the world of storytelling from a real-life author.

To make the day even more memorable, some of the children were thrilled to take home their very own signed copy of the book – a lovely keepsake and a great way to inspire a love of reading.

It was a fantastic experience for all involved, and we’re so grateful to Danielle for sharing her time and talent with us. What a lovely treat!
