In Year 1, the children have been busy working on an important Maths concept – finding one more and one less. Using a range of Maths apparatus, the students have been engaging in hands-on activities that help them understand these concepts in a fun and practical way.

By physically adding or subtracting one from a number, the children can better visualize the changes and see the effects of adding or taking away. This interactive approach makes learning both enjoyable and effective, as the children explore numbers in a way that feels real and exciting.

We encourage parents to support their child’s learning at home by practising these skills together. Everyday objects, such as toys, fruit, or even playing board games, can be used to reinforce the idea of adding or subtracting one from a given number.

It’s been a fantastic learning experience for Year 1, and we look forward to seeing their skills grow even further!
